Born in Dehradun, Smriti Rana is a textile designer who graduated from NIFT. While her formal education polished her understanding of design and execution, she has always been a self-taught artist at heart.
Since childhood, I have always found my escape in colors and sketches. I would draw not only behind my own notebooks but also on others, and when I didn’t have access to coloring books, I made them myself. Pencils, colors, and a notebook were my closest companions - I carried them wherever I went, always hoping to spend my best time creating something new.
My journey as a designer took shape when I pursued my graduation from NIFT, which refined my raw passion into an understanding of design fundamentals and the discipline of execution. The variety of techniques and colours sparked another world of curiosity in me - one that pushed me to start printing table cloths for myself and embroidering home décor for my own space. Those years taught me that even the smallest details hold power in shaping the bigger picture.
Itiyaadi is the dream I have carried with me since childhood - to create a brand that reflects the artist in me. A brand that feels refreshing and rooted at the same time. Through every collection, I wish to celebrate heritage, honor craftsmanship, and bring beauty into the everyday, so that each piece tells a story and feels like home.
